Problems with Movie Theaters

Vancouver movie theaters aren't providing deaf patrons the quality of service they deserve. That's the view of Lisa Anderson-Kellet who says she has gotten about 10 free passes in just a single year because the captioning wasn't working properly at theaters in the area. To make matters worse, there are only a few places with the needed equipment. The largest movie theatre chain in Canada, Cineplex, only has three theaters in the Vancouver area that can serve the deaf and hard of hearing - and these theaters often only have one captioned movie available.
